Yesterday’s game should be a wakeup call to anyone who thinks we’ll see much of Yainer in the postseason.

If it wasn't obvious already, Verlander and Framber are going to have Maldy behind the dish in each of their starts. Yainer may get to catch one of the other starters, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was very surprised though that we didn't see Yainer PH for Maldy last night. Bottom of the 8th, two outs, runner at second with only a two-run lead, and Maldy 0-2 with a BB, I thought we would surely try to knock in an extra insurance run. But no, Dusty keeps Maldy in.

I'm really surprised I didn't see anyone mention this in the post-game thread last night. If Pressly had blown the lead, I think Dusty would've been torn to shreds for this decision, but because we won, it's not being mentioned.

I guess I'm just bummed because I thought we'd get to see more Yainer in the postseason (the "death lineup"), but now those dreams have been crushed.

Anyone else feel the same?
