Yellow/Orange Caterpillars? Anyone else seeing these?

I posted on the bug subreddit but didn’t get any response, so I’m asking locally. I’ve noticed probably around two dozen of these things outside my house over the last week.

They are light yellow to orange in color and about 3/4” to 1-1/4” in length. Never seen them before. Best guess is Yellow Wooly Bear caterpillars, but those aren’t common in this area from what I’ve come across online.

Are they a pest? Should I exterminate them or just leave them alone. They are chowing down on some leaves, but nothing detrimental so far.
