Y’all heard of GOOF?

I was recently talking to an old friend who was telling me that the neighborhood just north of 610 is known as GOOF, and she also mentioned that they were considering moving there because the schools there are good. First, is it really called that? Or is she just trying to sound cool. My second thought was that she’s sorely out of touch to think that the schools there are good. It’s within HISD, and you know how that’s going..

Is there any validity to any of her remarks?
