The resurgence of the XFL appears to be over before it even had a chance to begin.
The XFL, which includes the Houston Roughnecks, has laid off all of its employees and suspended operations, according to ESPN and multiple other media reports.
“While a handful of executives remain employed, the league currently has no plans to return in 2021,” ESPN reports.
