Would you think it was a bit off if someone says they spent a lot of time here in Houston but can’t pronounce Pearland?

Making phone calls for the boyfriend for a car lift. Called a company he asked me to call just to find out who they recommended to install their car lifts.

Never got those names….

But the guy said he spent a lot of time in Bellaire but when I gave him my zip code and he read me my city he called it Pearl and instead of Pear Land.

I’m just getting a weird feeling about this company based on those things but I’m just asking fellow Houstonians. If someone supposedly visits Bellaire a lot, but doesn’t live in Texas, would you expect them to know how to pronounce Pearland? I’m thinking the guy is lying and just trying to ‘make a connection’ to make a sale.
