Would CE major be better than CS?

Current High school senior and applying to colleges. My initial plan was to major in CS, but after seeing so many people not getting employed, I was wondering if a CE major would be better. They would also have ABET, making you more likely to get a job. I want to be in the software department, and CE does deal with software. I also heard a lot of CE majors do end up going in software.
