With the win against the Baltimore Orioles last the Astros have officially eliminated the Oakland As from contention for the division

The Astros have also Clinched a winning record for the season, and are the first AL team to do so, as well as tying with the New York Mets for the b=2nd best record in MLB.

The Magic Number for the Astros to make the playoffs is 21 right now. Meaning they could realistically clinch a playoff spot by mid September.

With the Rangers & Mariners we already won the series season, and therefore hold the tie breaker.

With the Angels we need to win 1 more game against them to take the season series, so there is currently no tie breaker over them (adding an extra game to their E#)

Currently finishing with a better record than the orioles (or the #7 spot in general) guarantees us a playoff spot, that current # is the aforementioned 21.

Oakland is still technically in contention for the Wildcard with an E# of 13.

They will likely be eliminated officially in 2-3 weeks.
