Will I get pulled over and towed if I drive on the grand tollway without a working tolltag?

Im coming to town tomorrow for a funeral and my mom told me there are some new signs up on 99 that says they will tow you if you dont have a working toll tag. Im not finding anything online that says this it just says they will invoice you.

I have a tag on my windshield, but it doesnt work, not sure why and my dumbass hasnt looked into it.
