Why should I vote for John Whitmire?

So the mayor race is now down to Sheila Jackson Lee vs John Whitmire. Every time SJL is mentioned in a thread, I see a ton of rabid hate for her and a ton of people questioning why would you ever vote for her, but the one thing I consistently see missing is any argument for another candidate. Well, now she has one opponent. It's a binary choice, one of the two will be mayor. And personally, I'm not typically swayed when I only see negative arguments for one candidate with no positive arguments for another candidate.

So r/Houston, can you pitch me on why I should vote John Whitmire for mayor without mentioning SJL? Can you give me that positive argument on why he would be a good mayor? Since a lot of you don't want SJL so bad, this is your chance to potentially win over some people. Would love to see it. Thanks.
