Why is Houston’s power grid a joke?

My house is still without power after 12 hours. Early this morning all that happened was a thunder storm, did a transformer blow out or something?

Not to s**t on Houston but I’ve been in Houston for the past 4 years and I’ve experienced more power outages than my 20+ years in Massachusetts
