Why does everyone seem so certain that we should trade Tunsil?
It seems to be a growing narrative that trading Tunsil is a foregone conclusion, and I really don't understand why.
LTs are arguably the second most important position on a football and we have a younger stud LT in Tunsil that is locked up for several more years. Sure we can get a first round pick for him that could maybe into a quality LT or we could draft a bust. We'd be hoping to get a player of Tunsil's with a pick that we acquire from trading him. Seems rather short sighted and stupid.
I see people cite that he quit on the team this year, but honestly this was always a lame duck of a season, why chance a reinjury or more serious injury in a lost season. I'd rather him sit out and come back healthy next season when we might start to see some growth.
Even when ignoring the capital we gave up to acquire him (as we should) it doesn't make sense to ship off a quality tackle for a crapshoot player in the draft.
