Why do the roaches down here have to be SO MASSIVE?!

Specifically posting in this Houston sub because someone's gotta agree with me that the roaches here are just abnormally huge. Therefore…I'm needing the best suggestions on how to keep these mfers OUT of my house. I am deathly afraid of them lol.
Most searches come up about the "small apartment" type roaches that come in droves. I don't have that problem. I'm talking about the ginormous flying disgusting roaches that come from the sewers. I'm getting nauseated even typing this. I don't have the proper vocabularly to express how much I loathe these bugs. They are vile demons.

Any suggestions on how to keep them away from my house other than paying a pest company? I don't have an infestation or anything. I just happened to see one of these huge assholes in my garage last night, and now I can't go in my garage (lol). Is there a good spray you recommend? Powder? Oils? Anything…any and all bug advice drop here lol. Thanks!
