Why do people keep telling me to use the Metro app?

So anytime I have complained about metro on here someone tells me to use the Metro app even if using the metro app wouldn't solve my problem.

I just downloaded it and I honestly don't get the hype. Maybe I need to learn to use it but it seems WAY less convenient than Google maps. For example to go to Randall's I had to go to Google maps and get the address for Randall's. I have my location on. I put in my current address and yet the metro app didn't suggest the two closest Randall's to me.

It it telling me their are for options available but when I click view all options it only shows me one bus option and one drive option. Google maps shows two different bus options, a walk option, a bike option and a drive option.

It's showing the exact same timing as Google maps for the buses. I've used the texting options and Google maps at the same time and I have never seen Google maps deviate from metros information. I always assumed that Google is getting it's information directly from metro. When I use Google maps it gives me information on detours.

I'm confused. I downloaded the metro app I'm honestly not seeing how it is better than using Google maps at all. Why the hype?
