Why aren’t screened porches more popular in Houston?

Seriously considering screening my porch in, but have noticed you hardly see screened porches here (compared to places like Florida, which seem pretty similar weather and bug-wise). Does anyone know why? Is there something about Houston that makes them less advantageous?
