Why are Houston’s communities outside of 610 rarely talked about?

Maybie i haven’t been on this reddit page long enough, but i can’t understand why anybody hardly talks about anything outside of 610. Especially on the west side.

Even in the local houston politics, i feel very few words are said about Spring Branch, Cypress, Jersey Village, Bellaire, and Katy.

Why is this? Are we not substantial enough in population or are interesting enough to be included in conversation?

I just feel like everything outside of the inner loop doesn’t exist to some and i seek to know why.
