Why are Demeco and the staff beating around the bush of naming CJ the starter

I just saw Demeco’s press conference for today, and when asked about CJ and naming a starter he always gave the same dry response, saying “You’ll see the starter in Baltimore week 1.” Then even said “Everyone is still in competition, including the quarterbacks. We’re still trying to figure out the starters situation.”

Everything else says otherwise lol the players know it, we know it, the depth chart says it, and the play on the field proves that he should and will be the starter. If basically every other team has already established who their starter is someone help me understand why our staff is acting like it’s so hard to just say it?

Yeah I understand be patient, etc. but I just don’t see why, or if this is even some sort of strategy for them to wait. I don’t see what it’s doing or proving.
