why ain’t the plot to any movies or tv shows ever set in houston?

i'm not talking about filming, houston has had stuff filmed there before ('robocop 2' and 'reality bites' come to mind). but its a great mystery to me as to why the actual plot to absolutely nothing has ever been set in houston!

its not like the city doesn't hold the history of millions upon millions of people over the last 150 years. how many fortunes made!? its actually been the 3rd largest city for quite some time, that “4th largest city” thing was since the 70s. with how many cartel murders happen it could and should easily be the setting of a crime drama, but NOPE. hell, i’d put money on the possibility that its never even been used as the setting for the plot of a generic dollar-store romance novel lol!
