Which water, in your opinion, is better

We are moving from Canada, we are looking at homes in the spring area. The majority of homes we have been looking at have well.
What are your opinion on wells vs city water. We have seen some district water as well and some homes we have looked at say "other" which is a bit confusing.
Here in Canada, where I live in the mountain area, well water would be snow cap fed, so its pretty good, but I am unfamiliar with Texas, let alone Spring.
I have asked my broker and she just says "you are responsible for testing", so I don't even know if she knows pros and cons of them. We are seeing that homes WITH wells, are on market sometimes for almost a year, giving us fear of buying, and then the re-selling risk.
