Which neighborhoods near Vietnamese groceries?

My wife (Vietnamese – recently a US naturalized citizen) and I are looking at moving to Houston for a few reasons:

  1. Climate (warm/hot/humid). The winters sound a bit chilly but there's a lot less hurricane risk than Florida.

  2. Vietnamese groceries – we don't care about restaurants or being part of the Vietnamese community, but fresh Vietnamese vegetables (we are vegetarians) are a must have.

  3. Hub with 1-stop flights to Vietnam.

I own an online business so I work from home and my wife is a home maker. So work commutes don't matter to us. Most of what we go out of the house for is shopping for food, so our goal is to be near to the main Vietnamese grocery stores. We value quiet, safe places.

We intend to spend around 250K +/- and are looking for a 2 bed 2 bath or 3 bed 2 bath home. We are not worried about schools.

It looks to me like the south-west side between the highways marked Sam Houston Tollway 8 and Highway 6 on Google maps is the right area to be near, but I am wondering if I am right or if I should be considering other places to buy a home.

Thanks for any thoughts! We appreciate it!
