Which Hotel In Houston To Stay

I'll be in Houston in January, trying to figure out between the hotels below, which are closest to restaurants, nightlife, and things to do. The choices are:

The Whitehall Houston

Holiday Inn Express & Suites on North Main Street

Crowne Plaza Houston Med Ctr-Galleria Area its on Southwest Freeway

or

Hilton Garden Inn Houston Medical Center on Almeda Road.

Is there anything else I should know about these? I am only there for the weekend and am not looking to spend a ton of money. This is a personal trip to visit a friend Ill be traveling solo.
