Where’s the rave scene in Houston?

Hi guys! I’m from the Bay Area CA and have been in the local rave scene since high school. I’m used to getting coordinates from a burner phone, losing cell service, and partying in the woods/caves/abandoned warehouses until 5am (then the afters).

I’m going to Houston in August and haven’t found anything—even my friends who DJ all over the bay can’t help me find other DJs or events in TX. Is the rave scene dead?

Not only that, every club seems to be 21+, if not 23+. Whats with that? Why aren’t people dancing, instead they buy booths and bottles with no intentions of actually doing anything. Am I missing something? I’d appreciate any advice!
