Where to Get Houston Food & Drink Deals for Super Bowl 2023

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will vie for the Super Bowl LVII trophy at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, February 12 starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time. While it’s disappointing that the Houston Texans didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, we can take comfort in the fact that Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is a Houston native, and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is from Tyler.

Whether you’re watching at home or seeking a bar or restaurant for a more communal environment, Houston not only has plenty of options for both, but some places have special Super Bowl deals, too. This list is conveniently divided into places for watching the game and where to get dishes to get for home parties.

Houston Restaurants & Bars for Watching the Super Bowl

Feges BBQ, 8217 Long Point: The independent, local barbecue joint in Spring Branch is hosting a Super Bowl watch party with specials on wings, barbecue and beer. In addition, Feges BBQ is bringing back its Cracklin’ Nachos for the event. The restaurant is outfitted with a big screen for prime viewing.

Gatsby’s Grill, 2929 Navigation:  The newest addition to the Gatsby’s restaurant group sports a spacious indoor bar and outdoor patio, which will be set up for your Super Bowl-watching needs. There are also some enticing drink specials, which include $8 margaritas, $1 or $2 off draft beers, and $3 specials on other select beers. Popular game-day foods are $8 each, including a plate of eight chicken wings, an order of four sliders, calamari, street corn, onion rings and spinach artichoke dip.

Henderson Heights Pub, 908 Henderson: This homey bar just off of Washington Avenue sports 22 TVs, so that means plenty of screens for watching the action. (The sound will be on, too.) Expect a party atmosphere with football decor, buckets of craft beer, pitchers of draft beer and five different Game Day Appetizer Samplers that are perfect for groups. Examples include a quesadilla sampler with cheeseburger, Porky The Pig and chicken, bacon and ranch dressing varieties and a bucket of five corn dogs with mustard

The Maple Leaf Pub, 514 Elgin: Convenient to downtown, midtown and Montrose, this relaxed, Canadian-style sports bar is showing the Super Bowl. The $14 basket of eight wings comes with your choice of fries or tots, along with the requisite celery and homemade ranch. Get the wings Buffalo-style, or go with one of the more adventurous sauce or rub choices, such as tikka masala, sriracha lime or jerk seasoning.

R Bar, 1302 Houston Avenue: With 10 big-screen TVs, this bar just outside of downtown is optimally equipped for showing the big game. Bonus: there will be free chili dogs, and it doesn’t hurt that there are 20 beers on tap to wash them down with.

The Rustic, 1836 Polk and 1121 Uptown Park: Get to either of The Rustic locations early (downtown or Galleria-area) and pregame with happy hour specials from 3 to 6 p.m. These include a $5 house Old Fashioned, half-priced wines, and discounted meatballs, tamales and more. Then, stay and watch the game, which starts at 5:30 p.m.

Trash Panda Drinking Club, 4203 Edison: This easygoing bar on the north side not only has a huge outdoor screen, but also a few Super Bowl specials. Snag a cheese or pepperoni pizza and a half-dozen wings for $15, and a bucket of Colimita, a German-style pilsner from Mexico, for $10.

Houston Restaurants Offering Super Bowl Food & Drinks To Go

BB’s Tex-Orleans, multiple locations: On Sunday, February 12, score five pounds of boiled crawfish at any location for $35. The deal is for the crawfish only — no add-ons like in the photo above — but you can certainly add corn, potatoes, sausage and the like when online ordering goes live at 11 a.m.

Feges BBQ, 8217 Long Point: The local barbecue restaurant is hosting a Super Bowl watch party (see above), but it’s also offering several types of to-go packs. One example is the pack of 50 wings for $50 with your choice of Curry Lime, Alabama white, peanut butter and jelly, sweet Thai or hot red sauces. A $40 package has enough fixings to make 10 to 12 Feges Super Bowls — white rice, shredded lettuce, elote, sour cream, avocado, pickled red onions, pickled jalapenos, cracklin crumble and choice of one pound of chopped brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, whole hog, turkey or sausage. There are also barbecue packs and you can always order bulk meats by the pound. Pickups are available Friday, February 10 through Sunday, February 12, and you can specify if you want your food hot or chilled for heating later at home. Place orders online.

Figo Sugo, 409 Travis: This Italian stand located in Bravery Chef Hall is offering 18 wings and a pizza for $50. Topping choices for the pizza include fennel sausage, spicy pepperoni and mushrooms with truffle cream and Grana Padano. Email to pre-order

It includes a whole mesquite-smoked brisket that ranges from 8 to 10 pounds, a loaf of cheesy bread and a bottle of Goode Co. BBQ Sauce. The package costs $229. For dessert, consider adding Goode Co.’s famous Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie, which comes in a keepsake-worthy wooden box, for $54. The package serves 8 to 10 football fans (or maybe 5 linebackers).

Harris County General Store Barbecue Co. Pop-Up at East End Farmers Market, 2600 Navigation: Pitmaster Daniel Hinojosa is hosting a Sunday morning barbecue pop-up just in time for people to stock up for the Super Bowl. It starts at 11 a.m. and will run until sold out. While you’re there, you can sample some Union Mezcal, too. Grab-and-go items include prime brisket, pork sausage, pork loin and “Cheeken Breast” (the Plethora Plate includes a total 6 pounds of these meats combined for $85), as well as sides such as Raspberry Cole Slaw, Mamma’s Beans and Mac & Queso. Note that bulk meats such as must be pre-ordered via email no later than Thursday.

Kitchen United MIX at Kroger, 1035 North Shepherd: This interesting concept, which offers food from a variety of restaurants — including Frenchy’s Chicken, Buca de Beppo and Mr. Beast Burger, is offering a Super Bowl special of 30% off of all orders through February 13. Use code SUPER30 when placing your order online

KP’s Kitchen, 8412 Katy Freeway: Order any family pack and mention promo code “Super Bowl” to take 10% off. It’s available as any of Pizaro’s Pizza styles: Napoletana, New York and Detroit. The price ranges from $20 to $30 plus tax, depending on the selected style.

Pokeworks, multiple locations: Poke may not be a traditional Super Bowl food, but this deal might be helpful for people trying to stay away from fatty junk food. Orders of $30 and over will have free delivery, and customers who order $100 get a $15 gift card to use next time. Order online or via the Pokeworks app.

State Fare Kitchen & Bar,  three locations: Perhaps you’ve heard of that perpetual party favorite, the seven-layer dip? Well, for the Super Bowl, State Fare has upped the ante with a 10-Layer Dip. Burrow the provided tortilla chips through strata of salsa, refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheddar, ground beef, pimento cheese, black olives, fresh tomatoes and green onions. The special offering feeds four to six for $30. Go online to order

Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, 6401 Woodway and 1140 Eldridge: The local Mexican restaurant from chef Sylvia Caesares is ready to outfit your table with tamales, enchiladas, fajitas and more. Packs of a dozen pork or chicken tamales are $22 each. True to the restaurant’s name, the wide variety of enchiladas, including beef, chicken, carnitas and Enchiladas de Calabacita (filled with squash and corn) are $38 a dozen, with the exceptions of the shrimp, crab or fajitas, which are $44 a dozen. Chile con Queso, guacamole, picomole, rice and beans are available by the quart.

The simplest options for feeding a crowd are the Super Bowl packs, which include a fajita combo for $108, chicken enchiladas for $130 or cheese enchiladas for $109. These feed up to 10 and you might consider getting some margaritas to go, too, which come in sizes up to a gallon. Orders must be placed no later than 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 11 (24 hours ahead of the game). Call the Woodway location at (713) 334-7295 or the one on Eldridge at  (832) 230-3842.
