Where to buy large wall art?

So I have a big empty wall (painted Navy Blue) that I need a large piece of art for. Where does one go to find local artists and their work? I am not made of money but if I am going to spend on art I would much rather it be from someone from the area and not some soulless piece from HomeGoods.

I really enjoy abstract but at this point am open to anything. Is there an art warehouse space? An Instagram I should follow? A secret underground bunker?
