Where should I buy a house lol

Hello! I am thinking about jumping in to the housing market but have a bit of trouble on deciding which areas to focus on. I’m hoping this sub can help me out a bit.

Difficulties are 1. Commutes – my wife just got a new job in the galleria. I work in clear lake. Other factor here is that my wife hates driving, so priority will be minimizing her commute. 2. Budget – we are only willing to spend as such that we can afford to live off of one income (low 80K range). We would like to avoid townhomes/condos if at all possible (I know this may be unrealistic). So for simplicity’s sake, let’s say our sticker price budget is 375k.

My gut says we’ll end up in west pearland, but I like the idea of ending up near willowbrook/Meyerland. Given these constraints, where would you plan on settling down?
