Where a Young professional should buy a house in the Houston Area

Hey everyone I’m looking to move to the Houston area from the DC metro area. Young 24 Still young no kids no wife so I definitely want to have a decent access to nightlife. Budget for a mortgage is about 3000 a month (inclusive of property taxes, ins, hoa).

Eventually probably turning it into an investment property, for now will probably rent out my extra rooms. Nightlife is definitely important to me but I’ve never been a hardcore inner city dweller so a mix of suburban / Urban would be amazing.

It would be cool to be able to explore the rest of the state so preferably an area where I can sill access Dallas, Austin, San Antonio with relative ease. Preferably newer homes and I’m in no rush so new construction projects aren’t out of the picture

I understand I won’t get everything I’m looking for so I’m willing to compromise on some things but looking for the best combination! I’ll be working remotely so no worries of a commute.
