Wheel Theft and Wheel Locks

Recently became a Houstonian and have been made well aware of the plague this city has with wheels getting stolen/car break ins, especially in the loop.

Thankfully this hasn’t happened to me yet, but I’ve witnessed the horror of multiple cars/trucks being on blocks, even in a gated apartment! There hasn’t been a post dedicated to this in a while, so

PSA: GET WHEEL LOCKS FOR YOUR CAR/TRUCK!

Unless you have super nice aftermarket wheels, I’d think it’s safe to assume thieves prefer quick and easy targets and are not looking to deal with the headache of attempting to rip off wheel locks. I feel like this should be a logical way of theft deterrent like not walking alone at night, but I see cars on blocks too often! Am I missing something here?
