What’s w all the houses w no covered back patios? Alternatives?
It rains at least 1/3 of the time in this city. What gives w all the houses w bare ass back patios w no cover? Or arguably even worse, a pergola which to me seems pointless bc it provides no real shade and lets water through. I guess some people cover them?
Aside from the laughably shitty builds from 2019 onward (3 tab roofs, tiny lots and backyards, scam companies w shoddy worksmanship), in the rest of the market you’ll find no covered back patios, skinny ass 80s driveways where you have to play musical chairs w cars every time someone has to go somewhere, no gutters so you have to question the foundation, etc.
I just feel like complaining I guess. I’m pretty picky but it can’t be that hard to find something where a builder cared to create a cool experience. Maybe the No covered back patio shouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. If anyone knows financially efficient workarounds where I can spend a little cash to walk out and enjoy a rainy night or grill without getting soaked, I’m all ears. There’s just not many choices out there right now so I may have to go w no cover and improvise.
