What’s it like being a South Asian guy in Houston, Texas?

Here's a bit about me.

Working in Engineering, Single, South Asian Guy in his mid 20s. Earning a salary of $90,000. I was offered a role of $120,000 in an off-shoot in of the branch in the company in Houston and was told that if I did take it up I'd have to move Houston.

I don't really know much about the city but my boss has said that if I do want to take it they need a reply by Friday. I mean the role does come with some perks and I will be in charge of a few people.

But I don't really know much about Houston.

I think I've been kicked upstairs because I'm a bit assertive with myself (not rude or problematic) and one of the peripheral managers don't like me. However my assessments and statements are correct so I've been given the option of taking this and leaving. I had a talk with a lawyer this weekend and they said it seems like a decent package, with some minor adjustments so it seems that (luckily) I'm not getting fired.

I'm just being sent as far away as possible from some of the big shots in my location. I don't know if they're even punishing me but I do know I've butted heads with a few of the management though my direct boss and by bosses, bosses boss has said they like my work and what I'm doing.

I'm really thinking of taking it and I'm hoping for some insight into the city itself.
