What’s going on with home insurance rates in harris County?

My insurance went up from 2.3k to 3.8k this year (liberty mutual). We're about 45 minutes away from the coast and not in a flood zone. Shopping around I get quoted anything between that and 9k annually. I thought last year was bad and now it's just insane. We've never filed any claims, have a clean record, regular-ish house (2300 sqft), normal finishes albeit somewhat dated.

I'd really like to hear how everyone else is doing. What are you all experiencing? Is this widespread?
