What’s going on with all of the Carl’s Jr. restaurants closing?

I live in Southeast, there was one by Baybrook, one in Fairmont, and one on Spencer; all of them have closed. The closest, and I believe the only one, is all the way in the Heights I think, Google Maps shows the closest operating one is in Angleton.

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to discuss this, but I started craving it out of nowhere. Anyone know why this is happening or where I can find one open in Houston?
