What websites do you guys depend on for Emergency Preparedness?

I'm working on a resource list for Houston-area/Harris County residents to access prior to/during emergencies, and I wanted to make sure I didn't overlook anything especially helpful.

Examples of what I am looking for:

  • This website allows you to check the water levels of any of the Harris County Creeks at many points. You can "subscribe" to one or more of the measuring locations and it will send you an automated text when conditions might cause the creek to flood in that area. It also allows you to look at a general map of the creeks and their levels. I personally use this site and it has saved my bacon more than once.
  • Centerpoint has an electrical outage tracker that will show you reported outages right down to specific streets
  • Waze is a free map/directional app that allows its users to flag roads and intersections that are experiencing hazardous conditions (flooding, debris on the road, accidents, spills, etc)

Emergency Services that some people might be unaware of would work too! For instance:

If anyone can think of anything I may have overlooked or some website/app/service that you think more people ought to know about, please let me know!
