What to do next about a terrible tow at my aparmtent
I’m a resident of an apartment complex named Chandler Park in the Energy Corridor. I’ve lived there for over a year. Both my wife and myself are teachers(I’m a high school teacher in Cy-Fair and my wife is a paraeducator at private school). My parking tags expired on 1/13/21 and at 12:15 AM on 1/14/21 my car was towed from my complex. This to me is absolutely ridiculous and raises all sorts of eyebrows. The knew EXACTLY when my tags expired and did not give me the chance to show up the day the were expired and get new tags.
When I went to speak with the office, one of the assistant managers agreed with how ludicrous it is that I can be towed 15 minutes after my tags expired. 15 minutes after the calendar had flipped to the next day. I had zero opportunity to replace the tags as I also teach after school every day of the week. I showed up the very next day to speak with them and ask for my account to be credited for the tow.
It makes me think that there’s some sort of under the table dealing with the tow company since they knew to tow my car the MINUTE that the tags expired. The tags were also so old that the expiration date was pretty worn off, so I don’t believe the tow truck driver randomly checked my tow tags.
I’ve reached out multiple times asking for my account to be credited with the tow fee…the least I think that they can do. The apartment complex claims that I should have been proactive and the fault is entirely my own.
I’m so frustrated and wondering if this would be anything that you would be looking for reporting on or looking into or am I just s**t out of luck?
