What makes you stay in Houston?

I’m thinking about moving back to Houston after being in Michigan for the past couple of years. I really miss my friends, the food, and the job I had, but there are definitely things I remember not liking (the heat/humidity, hurricanes, random shootings outside my house in midtown, etc.). Why do you live in Houston? Why do the pros outweigh the cons?

Also, do you feel Houston has gotten better, gotten worse, or stayed the same through the pandemic?
