What keeps you to stay long term in Houston?
I've been living in Houston since the COVID era really began. I love Houston. I love the people (when they're not driving), the culture, the ongoing events, the weather (for the most part), the breweries, and so forth.
I've been beginning to think of establishing myself long term here with the next step of buying a home. I've been transfered around to many cities for work but I feel right at home here in Houston. My friend group is small due to being remote full time now but everyone I've met has been great.
I'm curious to hear what keeps people here long term besides the usual "it's all I know", "cannot afford to leave" or "my family is here so I'm here".
P.S.: My job isn't located here and I always have that back in my mind fear of being let go someday so what's everyone's employment experiences?
