What is the whole point of the Texans keeping Deshaun Watson and releasing the cases?

I don’t get why the Texans don’t just trade him if he’s such a piece of s**t and they were the ones to really have these allegations come out. They’ve done a horrible job building around him and have done nothing to make him happy.

But why don’t they trade him? Is it like “ you’re a pice of s**t but you’re our piece of s**t so we aren’t trading you.” Type situation? Why would they bring allegations out on a player they wanna keep or are they just trying to ruin Deshaun at this point?
