What is the best way to get to the Houston Rodeo?

Hi! I’ve recently moved to Houston from the UK and will be going to the rodeo for the first time next Saturday! I’m a very nervous driver so I was just hoping to get some tips before I go.

I’m hoping to spend as much of the day as possible there to try and make the most of it. I’ve seen people mention the light rail a few times and also park-and-ride but don’t really know a lot about it. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to get there? Thank you!
