What is it like in Harris County Jail?

I’m reposting this question with a bit more context. My abusive ex husband was extremely abusive. Once I got into safe housing, I learned he had warrants for his arrest but was still free. After living in fear for about a year, I’m pleased to know he has finally been arrested and is currently at Harris County Jail without bond. The trial alone will take several months and the court will not grant him time served due to the severity of the charges. He’s facing a minimum of 5 years. All of this being said, I can’t stop wondering what he’s experiencing. In a strange way, I find it helps me feel better. I know this may not be the healthiest “outlet” but I would love to hear stories from former inmates about what life was like for them in the county jail and any hardships they may have faced. This is cheaper than therapy 😅
