What happened since the end of the 2022 season?

So basically I have not followed the Astros as much as I usually do since the end of the 2022 season (which I guess was a good time to tune out in hindsight) other than checking in every now and then. There seems to be a major organizational shift in team thinking from 10 years ago to now, whereas 10 years ago we were seen as the leaders of implementing advanced analytics and scouting to find premier talent and now it seems we are more laggards in that regard. Starting from Crane’s ouster of Click, the Astros have seemed to diminish in overall quality (I know I am preaching to the choir here). I am just curious a) what brought about this organizational change and b) other than that, why are we playing so poorly?
