What are the deafeningly loud noises tonight?

Heard it 3 times in a few hours. Clearlake area. Never heard anything like it before. Not your typical lightning sound or gunshot or transformer exploding. In fact I am struggling to explain it. Just a very loud, short snap?

Almost like it was a lightning strike but with no reverberation nor light? But it was slightly lower pitched than a lightning strike. Best guess (even though I've never heard it) would be something from space bursting into the earth's atmosphere but the sound was way too close. Like it came from 2 blocks away

I looked up sky quakes, CMEs, sonic booms, asteroids. Wish I could record the sound but it happens infrequently

My sleep is ruined but I'm more curious what this is
