What are the chances of me getting a entry level software developer job in Houston, Texas being self taught?

I’ve been going the self taught route for about 4 months now. I’ve been learning HTML/CSS/JS. I’ve built the basic projects so far such as Rock Paper Scissors game, a CRUD project, rebuilt a local outdoor swimming pool website and added a weather API to it so it can alert users on the website that the pool may be closed temporarily due to lighting. I seen in a Reddit post that was posted 3 years ago is that .NET is pretty big in the Houston area. Is that still true? I plan on learning that if so. I also seen on another post (/r/houston/comments/e0avna/how_is_the_entry_level_job_market_for_software/) that if I know the slightest amount of JavaScript or .NET I’m basically guaranteed a job. Is that true? I don’t want to believe it’s that easy. I feel like the job market has grown and got more competitive since this was posted 3 years ago. I know I got a lot more learning to do before I start applying so I’m just wondering if I would have a chance against the CS graduates.
