What are the best locations in greater Houston for herping (spotting snakes and other reptiles)?

Any suggestions on best locations and timings to find snakes, lizards and other reptiles in the greater Houston area would be appreciated. Tried hiking trips in Memorial park, Sam Houston park but didn't spot anything. Thanks!
