What are some fast growing shady trees?

Prior to the horrible freeze the other year, my back yard had some nice trees growing that gave us some pretty good shade at certain times during the day. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it and after this summer so far, I’m realizing how much I miss them. What sort of trees can I plant in my backyard that a) do well in our zone and b) have a quick growth rate? Bonus points for trees that won’t die when temps get below 20.
