What are good things to know about Houston?

Hi guys, I'm moving to specifically an area near Johnson Space Center for work. I'm in my 20s male. What are good things to know about Houston? Never lived in TX, I'm coming from NC, have lived in MA, FL, GA, SC, and NC. Looking for things to do, things to avoid, and overall advice about the area and any moving advice. Thanks.
