Went to ComicPalooza, meh. How’s Anime Matsuri?

Went to comic palooza and it was meh at best. But this might be a recovery year for them.

I’m curious of the anime matsuri event, there’s alot of nay sayers about how bad the event is and the controversial owners. However I’ve never understood the real sentiment that people have towards the event.

Q1: is it really that bad? There’s more people attending each year right?

Q2: I’ve read that most of the people are volunteers for the event, and I don’t understand if that’s normal? Isn’t the event profitable, why do they need volunteers? Do their core staffers get paid?

Q3: how much does it cost to put on something like anime matsuri?

Q4: does it make sense for groups without the baggage of AM to put on a competing event? Is that what anime convention or Delta H con are?

Q5: do you think the owners of anime matsuri will ever sell the event to a more professional operator?

Seems like such a shame to have a for profit event like this hoarded by a family that doesn’t pay volunteers or might not pay the staff or panelists that work the event.

Anyone who has worked the event, DM me or post here, I’d like to better understand the working conditions for AM. Thanks!

In other news, I watched this video and wow… mind blown. https://youtu.be/k7X1JLumCC0
