We need to do something about the farm system
I think we need to trade for some prospects and get the farm to a respectable point. That being said, here are some prospects we could trade for.
Spencer Jones #73 prospect in baseball. Could fill hole in LF in the coming years or a trade package
Kevin Parada #89 prospect in baseball. Backup catcher to Yainer
Samuel Basallo #46 prospect in baseball. Young guy that could replace Abreu at first base
Guys with raw power, all graded at a 55 overall.
Also, I think some guys on our roster who are on the trade block for the right price could be-
Alex Bregman- free agent soon and would like to get some value out if him if we don’t have the payroll for him
Ryan Pressly- Going into his age 35 season and possibly one of his last years worth a lot. Also taking up $15 million of payroll
Jake Meyers and Jose Urquidy, along with J.P France I feel we could afford to lose. Tell me your opinions.
Reasoning-
I was also thinking that the Yankees need both outfield defense and a left handed bat, so Jake Meyers for Spencer Jones.
Mets are in a rebuild and already have Francisco Alvarez at catcher so a guy like Urquidy or France I feel could get him(Kevin Parada)
Orioles need pitching depth, so whichever SP doesn’t go to Mets goes to orioles for Basallo. The orioles also already have Adley and Mountcastle at Basallo’s primary positions.
Given all of that, these are 3 semi cheap prospects we could get by giving expendable pieces to teams that need them.
