"We have the tools, and we have the talent!"
This quote from Ghostbusters may still be fresh in some minds after Halloween, and it fits the situation perfectly here because this team has everything it needs to win. My faith may have faltered a bit after our rough start and the recent disappointment in Seattle, but I saw what I needed last week against the 49ers to get me sipping the Kool-Aid again. I saw a team loaded with talent that learns from its mistakes.
We established the run early to create play-action opportunities that eventually led to scores. We spread the ball around and made the most of our talented rookies. On fourth and one, we figured out how to get that yard. Sure, San Francisco’s defense was a bit diminished, but CJ moved extremely well in the pocket under pressure. The O-line also created some nice lanes later in the game for our emerging running back, Woody Marks, who posted a career-high yards-per-carry average.
From what I saw last week (real growth in all three phases), I have no doubt this team is ready to take on the rest of the season and make a strong push for a playoff spot.
It’s time to begin our conquest of the overrated horsey teams in the AFC! Go Texans! 🤘
