We have good Oline depth now, but its kinda messing with our immediate plans
Our unexpected Oline depth is certainly a good problem to have. But its unclear what the best immediate path forward is for the unit.
George Fant has been objectively very good at RT. His PFF numbers are similar to what Tytus has done in his career. We paid Tytus and he def has more overall upside, but idk if its the right move to immediately slide him back at RT since thats the only position Fant can play while Tytus can give us starting caliber play at LG.
Juice was supposed to start at C, but JP has proven to also be a starting caliber player and looks like one of the better rookie lineman in the league. He's gelling really well and idk if its prudent to put Juice ahead of him right away. Think we should prob give Juice limited snaps at first and see how he fairs while keeping JP as primary starter until we see a reason to switch.
From my understanding of Juice's draft profile he's a pure center and not regarded as an NFL guard prospect. JP was more of a swing interior lineman and could play center or guard, but is better at Center.
There's a possibility JP could switch to LG, but he might be worse there than Tytus or Josh Jones.
Realistically we're paying Tytus too much to be a mediocre LG so I think he'll move back to RT soon and we'll just keep Fant as a top-tier swing tackle (although idk if he can play LT anymore).
Having 2 starting caliber players at Center and RT is obviously a great 'problem' to have, but idk what our starting unit will look like after the bye
