We can still make the playoffs, and it’s not *that* narrow of a path! Who do we root for in the coming weeks…

I used the New York Times 2020 Playoff Mahcine Here to work out which games that the Texans are not playing in are the most important to our chances of making the playoffs.

Obviously we need to win out. This means sweeping the Colts, beating the Bears in Chicago, and the Bengals and Titans at home. But, this only gives us about a 50/50 shot at the playoffs. What are the other key games we need to go our way to lock in a spot? Let’s assume the Texans actually do win out. There are only a few…

Week 12:

Colts over Titans at home. Maybe a perilous path, but it could totally happen!

Week 13:

Browns beat the Titans in Tennessee. We almost beat the Titans, and the Browns beat us. Call it a lock? /s obviously…this is likely the bottleneck to a 100% ticket to the wildcard round. Fingers crossed!

Week 16:

Steelers best the Colts at home. I could see this happening, too…at this point, it’s really starting to look like the Texans control their own destiny.

Packers over the Titans in Lambeau. This one will be exciting, for sure. Can the Bad Man outpace Tannehill and Henry? I say yes!

So where does that land the division?

Colts 10-6

Texans 9-7

Titans 9-7

I’m assuming this calculator has some games going a certain way that gives us a tie breaker on the Titans, but I’m not sure…anyway, according to this tool, with these favorable outcomes, we have a 100% chance to host a wild card game, and that’s about all the kool-aid I need after such a s**t start to the season. What do yall think?
