We Are One Festival – Scammers
For a little context, this festival was scheduled for November 11, 2022 at Eleanor Tinsley Park. It was postponed to May 2023 due to something about the parks availability. As of January 3, 2023, the event was cancelled altogether. All communication has been through email. Here’s a timeline of events:
October 28, 2022 – Email was sent to inform of postponement to May 2023. All tickets will be honored and a link was available to submit for a refund with a deadline of December 15, 2022 with refunds being issued within 14 days after.
January 3, 2023 – Email was sent to inform that the event has now been cancelled blaming that the city was not comfortable with large scale events. A refund timeline was provided with tickets purchased before May 1, 2022 processed within two weeks. Tickets after May 1, 2022 will be refunded within 5 days.
January 25, 2023 – Email about refund update. There was a system issue and refunds are taking longer than expected to process. Advised that if you did not receive your refund yet, to call your bank and dispute the charge.
February 5, 2023 – I personally sent an email for a refund update and still have not received a response.
As of today, I still have not heard back or received a refund. I tried to dispute the charge on my card online but there isn’t an option since it’s way past the timeframe to do it. I originally bought 2 tickets on September 1, 2022 for $383.66. I will try and call my bank directly and dispute it. All their social media accounts have disabled any type of communication.
I know I’m not the only one in this boat but these organizers need to be held responsible for keeping money from consumers this long. They have had more than enough time to process the refunds and fix whatever system issues they had. By filing a dispute, the bank is having to pay back the charge from my understanding so what happens to the original money that the organizers received? Total scam
