Watering grass

Searched for any recent post but info is still everywhere.

With this recent back to back heat temps (100°+). Wondering what folks are doing for watering their lawns to maintain their 'green'?
It's pretty patchy where I am at, lots of folks letting their lawns die. I'm trying my best to keep mine alive and helping out my neighbors whom are disabled.
I typically water my grass late evenings like 9pm mostly. in the mornings as well when I get up at 6. The grass is well established, not new or anything. Also how's about frequency? I'm scared to do every day. But worried we won't get rain for another week or so and the grass looks like it's screaming for water.
